SHORT SYNOPSIS

A young man falls into a dark state of depression. Non-narrative art story that leads a viewer into the beauty of dark moods. Poetry of the end of the world.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

The film „Lullaby” was born from vivid impressions after the Belarusian protests of 2020. Almost everything that happens in the film quotes real scenes from the life of the author (in an allegorical way). The room in which the action takes place is a real kitchen in Minsk. This is a kind of self-reflection, an attempt to accept the terrible times in which we live.

The subsequent war in Ukraine in 2022 only confirmed the need for such a project. These terrible events are impossible to understand, we are witnessing the self-destruction of the concept of human-being. As never before, we get acquainted with the darkest states of our souls. When even your own home becomes a horrible place in which the owners are spiders.They are like the focus of insanity. It is obvious that you are unnecessary for them. It seems that in the new world around us only spiders can live. People have to either be them or leave this place.

In our film, being reborn as fireflies saves people, they carry the light preserved in themfurther. This is a kind of road to the future. But no one knows what awaits usnext. Maybe it’sall a lullaby to mankind.
